Privacy Policy

Who we are

KineticShift is an independent mobile web application developed by a frontline NHS ambulance worker to help shift workers track their working hours, pay, and relief hours. The app is operated as a sole trader business.

What data we collect

When you use KineticShift, we collect and store the following information:

• Google account information — your email address and a unique user ID, collected when you sign in with Google. We do not store your password.
• Shift data — shift types, start and end times, locations, overtime hours, overrun times, notes, and mileage that you enter into the app.
• Pay settings — your AfC band, hourly rate, and break deduction preferences.
• Profile information — your name, station, trust name, and NHS start date if you choose to enter these.
• Relief tracker data — GRS hours and actual hours worked per month.

How we use your data

Your data is used solely to:

• Display your shifts and pay calculations within the app
• Sync your data across your devices when you are signed in
• Calculate your estimated pay and relief balance

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored in two places:

• On your device — in your browser's local storage, so the app works even without an internet connection.
• Google Firebase Firestore — a secure cloud database provided by Google, when you choose to sign in. Your data is stored in Google's data centres in Europe (London region). Google's privacy policy applies to this storage: policies.google.com/privacy

Data security

Your cloud data is protected by Firebase security rules that ensure only you — when signed in with your Google account — can read or write your own data. No other user or third party can access your shift data.

Your rights under UK GDPR

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• Access your data — you can view all your data directly within the app
• Delete your data — use the "Clear All Data" option in Settings, which removes data from your device. To request deletion of your cloud data, contact us below.
• Export your data — use the "Export Backup" option in Settings to download all your data as a JSON file.
• Correct your data — you can edit any information directly within the app.

Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as you use the app. If you delete your account or request data deletion, your cloud data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

Children's privacy

KineticShift is intended for adult NHS and emergency service workers only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the app and on this page with an updated date.

Acceptance of terms

By using KineticShift you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

What KineticShift provides

KineticShift is a shift tracking and pay estimation tool for NHS and emergency service workers. It is provided as a convenience tool only. All pay figures shown are estimates and should not be relied upon as official payroll information.

No affiliation with the NHS

KineticShift is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the NHS, any ambulance trust, or any other healthcare or government organisation.

Accuracy of calculations

Pay calculations are based on NHS Agenda for Change pay rules as understood by the developer at the time of development. These rules may change. KineticShift makes no guarantee that calculations are accurate, complete, or up to date. Always verify your pay with your official payslip.

Limitation of liability

KineticShift and its developer accept no liability for:

• Any financial decisions made based on estimated pay figures
• Data loss due to technical issues
• Inaccuracies in pay calculations
• Any loss of earnings or employment disputes

Subscription and payments

KineticShift offers a 1 month free trial for all new users. After the free trial period ends, a subscription of £1.99 per month or £19.99 per year is required to continue using the app. There is no permanent free version.

Subscription fees are charged in advance. You may cancel your subscription at any time — cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. KineticShift never stores your payment card details.

If you do not subscribe after your free trial, access to the app will be paused until a subscription is started.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to access another user's data
• Reverse engineer or copy the app
• Use the app in any way that could damage or overload our systems

Changes to the service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will give reasonable notice where possible.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
